Aramean people: Aramean people (not to be confused with ‘Armenians’) speak Aramaic, the language spoken by Abraham, Moses and Jesus. They are the indigenous people of what was called in ancient times Aram- Nahrin, in our days it is called ‘Mesopotamia’.

Some Arameans today identify themselves with “Assyrians”, because of the spiritual colonial hate generating activities of the Western missionaries and diplomats in the Middle-East in 16th and 19th centuries. Other Arameans became known as “Chaldeans”. However all of them are Arameans.

In Turkey, the Arameans are called: Süryani. In Arabic they are called Al- Suryan.

To His Highness, Highest spiritual leader in rank, Mor Ignatius Zakay the first, Patriarch of the apostolic chair of Antioch of the Syrian Orthodx, by Grace of God.

I kiss your blessed right hand and ask for your apostolic/fatherly prayers and blessings and (I start) than:

In agreement with the decisions of the Holy Synod taken this year: It is not desirable to disciplinary punish a clergy in the archdiocese when he misbehaves: But we have to submit to your Highness the reasons, in agreement with ecclesiastical rules, which justify the punishment/disciplinary measures. For this reason we felt forced to inform your Highness about the ill- mannerisms of the archpriest Emmanuel Aydin and we mention:

1. Since three years he translates your letters about me which you sent to Germany and gives the letters to the minister of culture and education of Austria and in particular the letter in the matter of the money of Mor Clemis Eugin Kaplan and the letter about the cross given as present to the priest Sami in Vienna by Maphrian Mor Tuma the first and a letter on behalf of the Holy Synod by high respected Mor Theofilius George Saliba on 17-5 of this year which sent to him which he (Emmanuel Aydin) in his turn sent together with the translation to the minister of education and (culture) of Austria. By means of the translations of these letters he wanted to show to the minister of culture that the head of the archdiocese (Mgr. J. Y. Cicek) had no authority anymore over him and his archdiocese.

2. He performs marriages without the permission of the head of the diocese (= Mgr. J. Y. Cicek).

3. Since three years he has no spiritual contact with the head of the diocese and subsequently informs everybody that he acts on behalf of the patriarch (and not Mgr. J. Y. Cicek).

This behavior of him, which contradicts the ecclesiastical laws, needs to be punished ecclesiastically. For this reason we expect that you invite him and us to you and hear out his story about the aforementioned points which are illegal and should therefore get suitable punishment. And bless me and please pray for me.

 Your servant

Julius Yeshu Cicek

Archbishop of Central Europe of the Syrian Orthodox.
