Aramean people: Aramean people (not to be confused with ‘Armenians’) speak Aramaic, the language spoken by Abraham, Moses and Jesus. They are the indigenous people of what was called in ancient times Aram- Nahrin, in our days it is called ‘Mesopotamia’.

Some Arameans today identify themselves with “Assyrians”, because of the spiritual colonial hate generating activities of the Western missionaries and diplomats in the Middle-East in 16th and 19th centuries. Other Arameans became known as “Chaldeans”. However all of them are Arameans.

In Turkey, the Arameans are called: Süryani. In Arabic they are called Al- Suryan.

Prime minister of Turkey: A Muslim can never commit genocide

Dutch Version

On 9th of November, 2009 a article was published on the website of Israeltoday.co.il in which the Premier minister of Turkey is quoted saying, “A Muslim can never commit genocide” (see the article below).

Erdogan made this comments during a meeting of his party in reference to the cancellation of visit by the Sudanese president al-Bahsir for fear to be arrested. There is an international warrant out for his arrest, because of genocide in Darfur.

Darfur is province in Sudan that opposes the Arabising campaign of the Islamic regime in Khartum. Since 2003, a bloody war is going on between rebel groups Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) and Justice with Equality Movement (Jem) at one side and the Sudanese Army with the Arab Janajweed militia on the other side.

So far, more than 300.000 people have been killed and millions became refuge. On 23-7-2004 the US congress designated the slaughtering in Sudan as genocide. On 9-9-2004 Collin Powel termed the conflict in Sudan as genocide too. In addition dozens of UN missions have been in Darfur to solve the conflict.

On 14-7-2008 the prosecutor at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Mr. Luis Moreno Ocampo issued an international warrant for the arrest of the president of Sudan Mr. al-Bashir for genocide in Darfur.

And yet, the prime minister of Turkey is of the opinion that definitely no genocide took place in Darfur; at the very most “mismanagement”. Because, as he reasons, “A Muslim can never commit genocide”

Well, what can be said about this? In 1914-1918 more than 500.000 Arameans, beside Greeks and Armenians, were brutally slaughtered. For example:

…….The Armenians are not the only subject people in Turkey which have suffered from this policy of making Turkey exclusively the country of the Turks. The story which I have told about the Armenians I could also tell with certain modifications about the Greeks and the Syrians (=Arameans). ...... it was probably for the reason that the civilized world did not protest against these deportations that the Turks afterward decided to apply the same methods on a larger scale not only to the Greeks but to the Armenians, Syrians (= Arameans), Nestorians (= Arameans), and others of its subject peoples.…………..

If we pay attention to the words of prime minister; this events also did not took place, because “A Muslim can never commit genocide”

In general the Turkey is very fast with propaganda claiming that the Armenians have killed Turks as well. Furthermore they claim that Armenians had aspiration of independency and wanted to torn up Ottoman Empire.

Even if these allegations might be true, yet this does not hold in case of Arameans, for the Arameans have always been faithful citizens. However, in spite of this, the Arameans were almost completely exterminated or ethnically cleansed.

And when can we talk about genocide? If nobody is left who can tell the story? It is quite strange here. Few months ago the Turkic – Uygurs in West- Chinese Xinjiang caused unrest and riots through demonstrations. When the Chinese government tried to restore order, Prime Minister Erdogan complained that genocide is being committed.

Turkish PM suggests Israeli Jews are genocidal

November 09, 2009

Tensions between Israel and Turkey ratcheted up again on Sunday when Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan suggested the Jews of Israel are the only genocidal group in the Middle East, while coming to the defense of wanted Sudanese President Hassan al-Bashir.

Speaking to members of his party, Erdogan insisted there is no genocide happening in Sudan's Darfur region, where over 300,000 people have been slaughtered by government-backed militias over the past six years. According to Erdogan, Bashir may have mismanaged the situation, but the international warrant for his arrest is a mistake.

"A Muslim can never commit genocide," Erdogan decalred. "It's not possible."

That is why the Turkish prime minister said he would have no problem meeting with Bashir, which he was scheduled to do this week before the Sudanese leader's trip was cancelled for fear of his arrest en route.

By contrast, Erdogan said he would have a very hard time sitting down for a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyhau. Erdogan has very publicly accused Israel of widespread war crimes and even genocidal intentions in the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian-controlled areas, severely straining relations between the two nations, which were previously regional allies.

Turkish officials have confirmed that the souring of relations between Israel and Turkey has a lot to do with Ankara's desire to strengthen ties to Iran.
